Where does it begin and end?
have been teaching about freedom of speech at work. we looked at David Irving (who denies the Holocaust happened), BNP etc and looked at whether they had a right to freedom of speech and if no why not! so what do you think? freedom of speech here is ok unless you discriminate against people or incite violence! The kids brought up the issue of Hamza and some muslims who jeered when soldiers came home! what do we think? is there a line on who can talk and where? Is it right that BNP are going to be on question time? ![]()

Its a tricky one isn't it - because there is no technical line. I think yes, complete freedom of speech should be allowed. BNP on Questiontime - why not. Lets see what they have to say... They'll soon show themselves up as the biggoted, arrogant and igronant little *beeps* that they are....
David Irwing at the Oxford Union why not to? If he thinks he has proof that the Holocaust never took place then why not listen to his side of the story so we can all make an informed decision? Is it not just like a 9/11 consipracy theory or any other conspiracy theory come to that? My freedom of speech line gets drawn when someone teaches another to harm another life - human or animal. Whether that means verbal or physical abuse - thats just not on and the person should have their tongue removed as a punishment....
